Diagnosis If you find a breast lump, see your GP local doctor. Sometimes this is in one breast, often in both. A thorough breast exam will be performed. This is a way of removing small fibroadenomas under local anaesthetic, without having surgery. It may be a chance finding or the patient may present with complaints of increase in the size of the involved breast, though no discretely palpable mass can be made out.
